The Genesis of Technopaganism
Cyberspace is the virtual reality of Earth. Alike, but different in creation and it's birth. The more things seem to change, the more they remain the same. The words may have changed, yet the message and symbolism remain.
Please be forewarned that if you are sensitive to your religious faith, stop reading here because this content may be offensive to Judaeo-Christian religions.
"The Da Vincci Code" is innocent compared to "The Genesis of Technopaganism." Naturally, it is not the intent to offend any religion, but to promote and correlate the documentation of ancient wisdom into the present day mentally of Cyberculture.
The following are the first ten verses from Genesis in "The Book of Voodoo Communications." Other verses shall follow in future columns of the Cyberculture News.
Genesis Chapter 1
1: In the beginning Super Computer, The Cosmic Mind created Heaven and Cyberspace.
2: And the cyberspace was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the interface of the web. And the Spirit of Cod (acronym for Cosmic Mind) moved upon the face of the net.
3: And said, Let there be light: and there was light.
4: And Cod saw the light, that it was good: and Cod divided the light from the darkness.
5: And Cod called the light On, and the darkness he called Off. And the evening and the morning were the first day.
6: And Cod said, Let there be a firmament (expansion) in the midst of the net, and let it divide the net from the net.
7: And God made the firmament, and divided the net which were under the firmament from the net which were above the firmament: and it was so.
8: And Cod called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.
9: And God said, Let the net under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the cyber land appear: and it was so.
10: And Cod called the cyber land Cyberspace; and the gathering together of the net called he Internet: and Cod saw that it was good.

Blessing or Curse: Googling with the Spirit of Janus
Part of my everyday ritual is googling Google in hopes of discovering any correlations that may link the past with the future. Being somewhat of a follower of technopaganism, I created a magical chant and adhere to an occult-like routine to help me communicate with the spirits and gods.
Now I know what you are thinking. Voodoo science! Au contraire, it is more like alchemy and the research relevant to turning basic metal into gold.
Anyway, the objective is to have the spirit of the Roman god, Janus incarnate into my computer because mythology has him simultaneously looking into the past and seeing into the future. Here is a photo of the statue of Janus located in the Vatican.
What is this chant and ritual you ask?
Well, can you keep a secret? Like I don't want it broadcast all over the internet. Before you know it, an urban legend will be floating in cyberspace.
Be forewarned! This is powerful mojo.
First, memorize this nerdish verse.
"Computer, computer on the web
show me wisdom of living and dead.
May the genius of Janus incarnate
through this medium on this date."
Now, in the setting of darkness like the midnight hour illuminati only by flickering candle lights and the eerie green shadows emanating from cyberspace, go to the Google search engine and insert the above verse.
As you enter these mystical words, verbally sing out loud in a monotone sounding chant the occult verse seven times. Then press the "I'm feeling Lucky" button.
If the spirit takes a liking to you, the gods and goddess shall bestow upon you an enlightening orgasmic experience. Otherwise, you just might have to wrestle with demons and the devil himself.
So it sayeth and is written in the "Book of Voodoo Communications."

Web Site Marketing Strategy Tool?
The genius or madness, depending upon one's perception of the Cyberculture News is that it is a web site marketing strategy tool. How can a content provider that borders on the edge of lunacy claim to be a web site marketing strategy tool? Well, according to an article in the SiteProNews located at http://www.sitepronews.com/archives/2008/mar/14prt.html any content that can be used to attract visitors to a website is called a linkbait. It is content that is specially written to either educate, entertain or inflame your readership and prospective readers. These articles create buzz, and the buzz spreads virally from site to site in the form of links and comments that others make about what is written on your site.
Linkbait creation is a marketing campaign on steroids and falls under the task of link building. Its sole aim is to increase the quantity of high-quality, relevant links to a website and thus generating an increasing number of visitors to the web site.
The definition of a linkbait, content that is specially written to either educate, entertain or inflame readers describes the Cyberculture News to a tee. In addition, a Google search using the keywords, cyberculture news reveals many web sites showing the Cyberculture News as part of their content.
Can this web site marketing strategy bring more visitors to your site? That question can only be answered after displaying the Cyberculture News content on your web page. Just remember that there is a fine line between genius and insanity.
Voodoo Links to High Technology
A web site discussing Voodoo informs it's readers that voodoo is a derivative of the world’s oldest known religions and is estimated to be over 10,000 years old. The word "voodoo" comes from the West African word "vodun," meaning spirit. The serpent figures heavily in the Voodoo faith and the word Voodoo has been translated as "the snake under whose auspices gather all who share the faith".
Could the symbol of the snake eating it's own tail, the ouroboros be a possible link to our modern day, as well as future high technology? One could easily argue that just as the snake continues to grow from the act of feeding itself from it's own body, so does the futuristic entity called artificial intelligence.
Other high technology links with voodoo include VoodooPC where you can even obtain voodoo technical support. The F-101 Voodoo is an American supersonic military fighter and voodoo programming, a tongue-in-cheek term for using a programming system or language which one does not fully understand. Also, there is the voodoo Graphics PCI hardware for computers and the Godsmack- Voodoo video you can view on YouTube.
So what does all of this voodoo and high technology mean? Well, sometimes genius is beyond the facade of reality for few of us would have thought that a 6700 year old occult symbol could represent the future of high technology.
Finally, is it possible that a 10,000 year old religion might hold a key for unlocking the cryptic code to the secrets of life? The insight to that question is based upon the premise that everything to be learned and discovered has already been documented in some form or another. That premise shall be discussed in future columns of the Cyberculture News and in "The Book of Voodoo Communications."
