Vague News: An Investment Tip from The Moron's Guide to Investing: Lease the Pennsylvania Turnpike

Bidders drop $12.8 billion offer to lease Pennsylvania Turnpike

Pennsylvania Transportation Partners turned down a $12.8 billion offer to lease the Pennsylvania Turnpike. A spokesman for Abertis Infraestructuras of Spain and Citi Infrastructure Investors says it's still interested in the roadway and they're available at any time to lease and operate 500 miles of the interstate for 75 years.

The investment idea has some merit.... Lincoln Tunnel, Baltimore Harbor Tunnel and other bridges, tunnels and highways already built and ready to be your cash cow. On the other hand, it is difficult to fathom the idea that a foreign corporation is making money off of an American infrastructure that was built and funded with American tax dollars. Wonder what the presidential candidates' positions are on this foreign investment and management of U.S. tax funded infrastructures?

Vague News: A political lesson in how to Manipulate a Financial Crisis and If the economy should collapse, who's to blame?

Bill Failure Is Big News.   What the Failure of the Bailout Package Means to the Presidential Race? Yesterday Democrats provided most of the votes for the failed financial stabilization bill. Obama supported it. So it's ironic that whatever political benefit flows from its failure will accrue to the Democrats.

First and foremost, continued economic instability works to benefit Democrats -- and particularly Obama.

It served to completely undercut McCain's fake narrative that he had "suspended" his campaign in order to "bring the parties together" to solve the problem in Washington -- that he's the guy who "takes charge and gets things done"

Continued economic instability makes voters even more uneasy about Sarah Palin. In the face of continued economic instability the last thing voters want at the helm is the candidate they saw Katie Couric interview at the end of last week

Host of factors contributed to bailout’s demise.   Follow the money:

The Democrat led Congress to Pass Bailout Bill after the failure of the bill serves it's purpose and Each and Everyone of them get a piece of the pie.

Vague News: A Question Answered Shall Motivate Young People to Vote

Three days ago the LA Times did a story entitled, Obama leading McCain among Xbox voters. But will they stop playing long enough to actually vote?

Obama leads McCain 43% to 31% among the nearly 100,000 votes cast as of Friday on Xbox Live, according to Microsoft, which runs the online game service. The voting is part of a partnership between Microsoft and Rock the Vote, which allows Xbox 360 users to cast their presidential preferences via their game controllers.

The initiative also allows Xbox Live members to register to vote for real. So far, 55,000 registration forms have been downloaded since the program began on Aug. 25, the first day of the Democratic National Convention. (You've got to be 18 to vote, but there's no age restriction on the Xbox Live poll.)

So although Xbox Live users represent a chunk of the youth demographic, a big question remains: Will online gamers rip themselves away from the    likes of Guitar Hero and Madden NFL 09 to go to the polls Nov. 4?

Will online gamers vote on Nov.4?  That question just might be answered if and when the presidential candidates and their running mates announce their intentions of reintroducing the military draft.  BTW, has the mass media been asking the presidential candidates questions pertaining to the issue of reintroducing the military draft?

Vague News: Can You Reset the Internet for me?

Some 1,400 chief information officers from companies across the United States to come up with the most baffling questions their help desks or technical support teams had ever received.(AFP/Illustration)

Can you reset the Internet for me?

Computer help desks are used to fielding oddball requests but sometimes the questions leave even the best of them in awe.  Here are some of the better ones.

"My computer is telling me to press any key to continue. Where is the 'any' key?"

"Can you rearrange the keyboard alphabetically?"

"My daughter is locked in the bathroom, can you pick the lock?"

"Can you tell me the weather forecast for next year?"

"Can you install cable TV on my PC?"

Then there was the computer user who confused the CD-ROM drive with a drink holder and asked: "How do I get my computer's coffee-cup holder to come out again?"

Foreseeing the Outcome of the Presidential Debates: It's in Black and White

Unless you have been living under a rock your whole life, you have heard the expression, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.  This proverb is relevant to the 2008 Presidential Election more so than any other presidential election in U.S. history.  Why?  I'm glad you asked.  Allow me to give the KISS answer to your question.

The brain's interpretation of visual stimulations evolves from mental recognition or learning... and learning comes about as a conditioned response to what we have been exposed to over a period of time. Cultural and historical influences help shape the way we perceive others and classifies them into good or bad, sexy or ugly, and valuable or worthless. Unfortunately. the average human brain does not take time to thoroughly analyze what it sees or hears... and it always seeks the easiest means for categorizing perceptions.

Whoa!  Yeh... I know, the only thing you are going to understand or remember from that answer is Sexy or Ugly.  Ok... along that line of thought America, here's a free reading of your palm.

Your comprehension and ultimate perception of the 2008 presidential candidates are going to be as simple as telling the difference between black and white.

Vague: Media Coverage of Wall Street Woes: Theoretically Speaking, a Political Conspiracy

Theoretically speaking, let's just suppose that a major news headline, McCain takes lead in national poll  initiated the launch of the greatest Con of all time,  A conspiracy to get Barrack Obama elected.

The release of negative news from major Wall Street players invoked the international press to report the woes of the financial markets.  Panic Sweeping Wall Street May Leave No One Standing.

Could it just be feasible that the "players" are huge money donors to Obama's presidential campaign and that their premeditated public announcements of fiscal doom were strategically timed to cause the media to rush in and create an opportunity for Obama to gain some momentum?

Woman Traps Media Beast that was Eyeing a Donkey and an Elephant

Two weeks ago, the Cyberculture News did a Vague column entitled, Vague: Genius is Beyond the Facade of Reality in which we pointed out how the Republican Party has been manipulating the news industry.  Well, the mass media has finally recognized the GOP's strategy for using the news media industry for their advantage.

McCain campaign systematically targets the news media - 09/14/2008 - MiamiHerald.com
Ever since McCain chose the largely unknown Palin as his running mate, his campaign has waged an intensive assault on the news media.

Capitalizing on errors, rumors and perceived sexism in the frenzied first round of reporting on Palin, the McCain campaign has taken advantage of a changing media landscape, grouping together blogs and supermarket tabloids with mainstream newspapers and television to tar the media as one corrupt monolith, stirring up the conservative base and working to pressure the media from further aggressive reporting on Palin.

The media aren't the bad guys in the Palin discussion. It's easy to accuse us of acting like sexists or big-city egomaniacs. Let's be real, though. McCain selected Palin for exactly those reasons - because she is a woman from a little-known state, who can take some of the heat off McCain and behave like an attack dog against Barack Obama. So far, the Republicans' plan has worked to perfection, as Palin has dominated the political discourse over the past few weeks.

Alas, let's face it.  The media beast has been snared by a woman.   Due to the competitive nature of the news reporting industry, the mass media is trapped in it's own unending desire for newsworthy content.  The seed that McCain planted when he announced Sarah Palin as his running mate has bloomed into a cyclical phenomena from which the news industry can not escape.

News Flash!  Donkey says let the media beast go.  Elephant says no.

In an ambitious push to extend President Hugo Chávez's revolutionary ideology, the Venezuelan government's draft 2008 budget includes more than $250 million to finance pro-Chávez groups and ''anti-imperialist'' movements in the United States, Central and South America and Mexico.

Under the draft budget, the Foreign Ministry would finance an ample variety of foreign activities, including the "consolidation" of the Venezuela-Cuba-Bolivia axis, the strengthening of alternative movements in Central America and Mexico, and the promotion of solidarity.

Political Family Values, or the Lack Thereof

Caught between a rock and a hard place after his decline in the most recent polls , Barrack Obama has taken a page from the GOP's  Genius is Beyond the Facade of Reality promotional campaign where the Republican strategist are cleverly marketing Sara Palin and her family values, or the lack thereof.

Obama takes daughters to first day of school

Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama held his daughters' hands when he escorted them to their first day of school.

Although it was very refreshing to see the other side of the presidential candidate and people got another glimpse of his little girls, what is troubling is the following headline from  2 or 3 months ago.
