In Pictures: A parody of the headlines.

Nerd's Twas the Night before Christmas

Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house,
Not a browser was stirring, till movement of a mouse;
The media was posting the news with care
The stories of Christmas were in the air.

The sites were nestled all snug on the Web
With visions of rank in their head;
And interface in the color of blue, and I in gaze,
keyword searched the latest news craze.

When out from the screen there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from my daze to see what was the matter;
Away to Windows I flew like a flash,
Made open the address and sorted the mash.

The size of the texts on the new found page
Enlarged the graphics on the reader Sage;
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a headline on Queen, UK holds dear.

With a little over eighty, so lively and quick,
She be reason for YouTube page click;
More rapid than eagles her kingdom shall come,
For she is to be seen, by everyone.

Now, SlashDot! now, Yahoo! now, Microsoft and Flickr!
For, FaceBook! for, Apple! for, MySpace! and AWOL!
To the top of the ratings! YouTube shall go!
So dash away! dash away! dash away You all!

As the RSS feed ended, another came forth,
The Queen's YouTube makes it a dwarf,
Candle light shining thru window glass,
The Pope delivered the midnight mass.

Not to be outdone by the royal broadband,
Papal takes offerings from all Web-land;
Not the PayPal that you and I know,
Sure to confuse and cause a few row.

Google did not speak nor utter a single line
Went straight to the data, not wasting time;
Crawled the Web for news search finding,
leaving me happy, no negative minding.

A single stroke of an index finger,
news on the Web no longer linger;
Before the terminal changes to black,
Firewall gave no sign of a hack.

Intel microchip about to shut down,
Wishing you this greeting, recently found;
Have a happy and safe holiday is politically right,
Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good-night.
