A Classic Tail Symbol: Modern Day Analogy

"It was the best of times, it was the worst of times." The classic opening line from Charles Dickens' novel "A Tale of Two Cities" published in 1859 seems to be relevant to any moment of time throughout history. If it was not the case, man would not had survived his darkest hour.

The snake eating it's own tail image of the Ouroboros symbolizes Dicken's concept of "It was the best of times, it was the worst of times." Best of times in that there is food in it's mouth and the worst of times is that the snake is devouring itself.

According to Wikipedia, the ouroboros is one of the oldest mystical symbols in the world and that it can be recorded as far back to the Hongshan culture (4700 BC to 2900 BC). What is very interesting is that the "It was the best of times, it was the worst of times" analogy with the ouroboros symbol is very relevant to our modern times, 6700 years later.
