Back in the first week of June, The Cyberculture News posted a column, Political Weather: The Calm Before the Storm?, in which a correlation was made between the timing of the hurricane season and the unofficial beginning of the 2008 Presidential race.  Subsequently, the Cyberculture News published the  First Political Hurricane Spotted and Named  article.


On September 1, 2008, the mass media capitalized on this headline naming and news reporting theme by publishing the following stories.
